Black Vulture

.

Fluffy was hit by a car, very near our home.  His wing was broken and even though many people were calling everyplace they could find to help him, he was left on the ground for two months.  For this reason, his wing became unfixable, so he is now a permanently captive bird.  We were finally called and we picked Fluffy up, took him to another facility and brought him back here once it was determined he could not be released.

Black vultures are one of the most common birds seen in our area and often mistaken for a raven because people believe all vultures have a red head.  Turkey vultures do, black vultures have black heads.

Native Americans believe that vulture teaches us to use energy powerfully and efficiently.
