CLAWS, Inc. is currently accepting apprentice wildlife rehabilitators. If this is something that interests you and you would like to learn how to do it first hand, under the supervision of licensed, experienced wildlife rehabilitators, please contact us. You will be required to commit to a certain number of hours per week. With this program, you will learn how to deal with intakes, feed, assess medical conditions, treat many medical conditions, and care for animals from intake to release. This program does not include fawn rehabilitation. We are, part of the Carrboro/Chapel Hill School District's Service Learning Hours program. So hours spent helping us with certain projects can count toward these hours and help you toward graduation. You can see some of the fun that some of our volunteers have had here though. For safety reasons, all animal care and habitat cleaning must be done strictly by us. This is an ongoing, every day process. There are other ways you can volunteer to help these animals however.
If you are interested in helping with any of these things, please email us.
Also, anybody who has experience writing for grants or finding grants to apply, your services are greatly needed. |
